Our world is alive with clues from our future. And these hints aren’t as weird or wild as we might expect. They’re often hidden in plain sight, tucked into the crevices of our everyday lives. 

A clue can be any unexpected idea that catches our attention: A new show we take a chance on and become obsessed with, or a once unfamiliar newsletter we now welcome into our inbox. Clues are also hidden in the parts of our lives that sparkle. They’re the moods, symbols, and aesthetics we’re drawn to—from a fashion trend we repeatedly save on Pinterest, to an untried ingredient we test our hand with. 

No matter the source of insight, when we feel that strange urge in our bodies to try something different or new, it's proof that our dream future is here, whispering to us, drawing us closer.

Advance Notice is a Dreaming Collective and Vision Studio devoted to guiding our community toward the future world we hope to fully inhabit. We study and interpret traces of this better future, and help individual seekers and organizations do the same. Our focus is on elevating what we notice in our lives. It’s in the interpretation of these clues from the future that we begin to truly understand what they mean. And, in turn, we can start to live better at home, at work, and in all the magical spaces in between.

Vision Studio

We’re here to help you learn how to be in relationship with your organization and its vision for the future. We believe that it’s only from this place that you can truly begin to love your work and create things that matter, (i.e., products, services, experiences, perspectives, strategies) not just to you and your team but also to our shared future.

Our Vision Studio takes a spiritual approach to long-term strategy work. We help you discover a meaningful direction for your organization, from solo entrepreneurs and not-yet-launched startups to Fortune 100s and established brands, and find ways to put it into practice every day. Our clients transition from our engagements better able to cultivate their organization’s deepest hopes, dreams, and desires through the work that they do. They also leave more in love with their work.

Horizon Moodscaping is a 4-5 day guided experience that helps you and/or your team find focus and cultivate a fresh perspective. You know those detective shows where the lead gets their big “aha” moment while looking at a messy board on the wall, full of pictures and notes and connections? This is our version of that. We take the mess of how the world was, is, and will change, and help turn it into a knowable path ahead.

Moodscaping is about moving beyond the realm of intellectual analysis to exploring clues from aesthetic, cultural, sensorial, and creative spaces of change. We create this perspective to make your day-to-day choices and investments more clear and cohesive. Consider this as a gorgeous way to approach a long-term strategy planning session, a neutral space to discuss multiple directions, or a grounded method to integrate diverse research streams into a cohesive story.

A curated journey for those seeking a beautiful, inspired anecdote to scary portrayals of the future.

Our material desires in our everyday lives give us deeper insight into our desired future. We offer Aesthetic & Archetypal Guidance to provide you and/or your team with a lens into how your dream future is speaking directly to you through these visible, tangible clues.

Our engagements begin by getting to know what beautiful or intriguing things you and your team are obsessed with (typically 3-5 guiding artifacts). We’ve analyzed anything from a Pinterest board to a specific candle scent. Then, each artifact we select becomes a portal for deep research. Our analysis fantastically blends disciplines like foresight and Jungian scholarship to help us tell a story about what the future is guiding you toward and why. Some of our partners commission us to create an organizational “Bible” or guiding text. Others work with us seasonally. We hold space for juicy conversations and immersive workshops.

FEELS LIKE

Commissioning your own spell recipe as aesthetic therapy, starting from your most loved Pins, Instagram saves, etc. Each spell ingredient is a symbolic representation of something you long for, but may not yet fully understand. When mixed together, this recipe has the power to alchemize into a better world.

Your vision is the spirit of your organization. We see it as a multi-sensorial place: a mythical world, a story, an aesthetic, a knowing. It’s a feeling that you reference constantly—whether consciously or unconsciously—that gives life and direction to everything you do.

Our Visionwork offering is more than just a string of words on a page. It’s where we collaborate with you and/or your team to discover and articulate a living vision of the future. Our hope is to commune with the future in ways that allow its amorphous nature to become something solid, bursting with color and life: to build a rich, sensorial future world. Then, quite practically, we use this long-term view to elevate and guide what you’re doing today. We work with new or just-formed companies, businesses that lack direction or focus, and organizations who once had a strong vision that has since been realized, is incomplete, or in need of a refresh.

We begin by understanding what parts of your understory exist already, and what can be created or elevated through collaboration. Creatively birthing anything new into the world is hard. The task of explaining an idea can feel like a slog, and at certain points, like you’re losing your initial energy and excitement—or worse, like you have nothing left to give. In Concept Articulation, we are your reinforcements, helping you explain the unknown to your audience in an engaging medium. We offer creative guidance and strategic support to convey your vision, concept, or unique point-of-view to the outside world. We especially thrive on ideas that feel impossible to fully capture.

We’re the kind of partners who will love your organization and idea as much as you do. We’ll obsess over the meaning of a word, what image best communicates a specific feeling, or a particular shade of purple. The briefs we’ve supported in the past include writing an article to share a new concept, building a web experience to introduce a new offering, and creating messaging for a new product.

Advance Notice is an experiment in consciously living our collective vision of the future, today. We call this way of practicing Spiritual Foresight. For us, the word “spiritual” represents a hunger to be in a deeper connection with our world, and to use our visions of the future as a conduit for building that relationship. 

As we’ve opened to the practice of spiritual foresight, the future has delighted us in return, sending us down beautiful meandering paths and offering unexpected clues.
